Shi Fu Miz festival, our talk about the Zero Waste lifestyle

One of NO!W main challenges is to convince people who are not sensitized to waste issues to start their Zero Waste journey.

This is why we join events to convince people to implement little steps to reduce their waste. What better event to join than Shi Fu Miz festival in order to talk about Zero Waste in a chill atmosphere?

What is Shi Fu Miz ?

SHI FU MIZ Festival is a new art project created by the collective La Mamie’s and FuFu team to offer a modern and original cultural activities in Hong Kong. Organized by two passionate teams, the event has for goal to convey the best values that unite both collectives: curiosity, encounter and conviviality, musical eclecticism, ecological awareness and accessibility. Their motto? Offer a varied program of worldwide music to electronic music combining live music, DJ sets and activities around art in a human-sized festival, where the spirit of the well-being is the keyword.

Their 2017 edition happened at Life Base on the beautiful Lantau island on May 13th & 14th and gathered more than 700 people.

We were happy to be among other amazing participants such as Yoga BamBam who delighted us with an amazing group yoga session, Paula Miquelis from Gone Adventurin who gave us some great insights on the waste issue in Asia, Typhaine Vincent who taught us how to make our own toothpaste, Last Straw Movement which is fighting against the million of straws that end up every single day into the landfill and the sea.

How did we contribute?

We first organized a brainstorming session with Shi Fu Miz team to gather ideas on how to make the festival more eco-friendly, both for its logistics and the workshops & talks proposed. We partnered with Makesense to use their brainstorming methodology.

We gave a talk on the Zero Waste lifestyle (inclure lien de la page about) to give some easy tips to people to start reducing their waste. We were also super excited to announce the imminent launch of NO!W platform.

As we wanted to share more on the solutions to waste that exist, we also gave a talk on circular economy and the many initiatives that are emerging around the world to use our waste as resources.

Finally, we stayed until the end to help them collect the trash people left on site :)
